Memorial Day Celebrations Around San Diego
May 17.2022

As the “unofficial” start to the Summer season, Memorial Day is upon us and San Diego is bustling with special events and festivals to help you make the most of the long weekend. Here are some of our favorite events happening in the local area to help you and your family celebrate this year.

One of the largest events in the San Diego area will be held at the USS Midway, Legacy Week. This year there will be activities offered onboard the ship including an interactive Remembrance Wall and annual blood drive. The celebration is dedicated to honoring and remembering our country’s heroes and San Diego’s military heritage. More details will be revealed closer to the event, so stay up to date here.

For a more traditional Memorial Day celebration, Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery hosts one of the most important memorials in the San Diego area. This celebration is dedicated to the memory of the nation’s servicemen and women. Visit their website to learn more.

Santee Street Fair and Craft Beer Festival at Town Center Pkwy & Riverview (May 28, 2022)

The Annual Santee Street Fair and Craft Beer Festival attracts over 30,000 people each year. Offering live music, carnival rides, food vendors, and craft booths, this can be fun for the whole family. There will also be local breweries from San Diego present with beverage booths offering specialty craft beers. Don’t miss out on the “Heroes Stage”, an exhibit for the fallen soldiers of California.
