Soak Up the
Last Days of Summer
July 25.2025

Before the school year kicks off, there’s still time to make the most of San Diego’s sunshine. From outdoor adventures to city favorites, here are six end-of-summer activities near 3Roots in Sorrento Mesa, offering a glimpse of the lifestyle that comes with calling our vibrant community home.

1. Hit the Beach

Pack the cooler and head to family-friendly La Jolla Shores for a full beach day—think boogie boarding, sandcastles, and calm waters. Or, for something a little quieter, explore the tucked-away coves of Torrey Pines State Beach, just 15 minutes from 3Roots.

2. Explore Balboa Park

Wander through stunning gardens, pop into the Fleet Science Center, or ride the historic carousel. August is also a great time to catch “Twelfth Night” at The Old Globe Theatre (through Aug 4) for a night of Shakespeare under the stars.

3. Catch a Padres Game

There's nothing like a summer evening at Petco Park. The Padres host the Diamondbacks, Rockies, and Mariners this August—plus KidsFest Sundays offer fun zones, bounce houses, and player autographs before the game.

4. Hike Torrey Pines at Sunset

Take the Guy Fleming Trail for a short, scenic loop with panoramic views of the Pacific. Go around golden hour to beat the heat and enjoy the kind of sunset you only get in San Diego.

5. Enjoy a Free Summer Concert

Bring a blanket and catch a show at Del Mar’s Summer Twilight Concert Series (Aug 20 at Powerhouse Park) or swing by Liberty Station’s Outdoor Summer Concerts every Friday night for music, food trucks, and family fun.

6. Stroll the Little Italy Mercato

Every Saturday, more than 150 vendors fill the streets with fresh produce, artisanal eats, flowers, and more. Make a morning of it with coffee and pastries from Pappalecco and enjoy the city’s energy just 20 minutes from 3Roots.

Whether you're chasing one last beach day or planning a night out under the stars, there's no better place to enjoy the end of summer than San Diego. At 3Roots, all of it is just around the corner, making everyday living feel like a vacation.
